Amir Samimi

was born in Tehran, Iran in 1988. He is a self-taught multi-percussionist with a background in Persian, Greek, Turkish, Flamenco, Latin, Jazz, and Rock music. Since his arrival in Canada he has been able to perform alongside many local artists with various backgrounds. He enjoys fusing the elements of different musical styles with Persian classical and traditional genres. He has been an active member of Akasha Five band since 2012 and a member of Baarbad Ensemble.
