Soudabeh Badiei
Music
Born in Isfahan in February 1980, Soudabeh started her formal music training at the age of 5, beginning with classical piano. At the age of 8, she picked the violin as her main instrument and took classical violin lessons with Hovic Baghoomian for 10 years, followed by traditional Iranian-style training with Ali Tajvidi and Masoud Hasankhani. She then proceeded to learn “alto gheychak” with Reza Abaee.Soudabeh has participated in many concerts including Khojasteh Ensemble led by Soussan Aslani (Dehlavi), Hassankhani Ensemble led by Masoud Hasankhani, Diba Ensemble, Delshodegan Ensemble and VSO (Vancouver Symphony Orchestra). Some of her audio and visual works include: Lost Gaze (Negahe Gomshodeh), composed by Soussan Aslani (Dehlavi) and Nava Concert (rastpanjgah ) , composed and led by Soussan Aslani (Dehlavi), featuring maestro Mohamad Esmaili. Soudabeh is also a serious watercolor artist and has trained with maestros Siavash Kasrai, Mohamadreza Atashzad, Naser Noormohamadzadeh, and Jamal Khoraminejad. She has held several painting exhibitions at Tehran and Isfahan Museums of Contemporary Art and various galleries in Tehran, other Iranian cities and Vancouver.
