RAGHS; Shanbehzadeh Ensemble Featuring DJ Michael Red

Make everyone dance. This is the promise of RAGHS. This unique creation of Shanbehzadeh Ensemble is an encounter between traditional music of southern Iran and electronic music. It draws its resources from its African heritage intertwined with the culture of the sailors in the Persian Gulf region for many centuries, which gave a unique cultural identity in the world.
RAGHS is a project-concept, leading the audience into a psychedelic trance by intoxicating melodies and disjunctions rhythms, of virtuosos Naghib and Saeid Shanbehzade, sublimated by electro sounds created by Michael Red.
Shanbehzade Ensemble is the most well-known music group from Southern Iran. The ensemble has presented the music of Bushehr region since 1991 in a variety of established festivals and theatres around the globe, such as WOMAD and Avignon festivals and The Theatre of the city of Paris. The Ensemble plays a very dynamic music besides many influences: African, Persian, Indian and Arabic music; and within powerful and rich rhythms and melodies which easily lead the audiences to dance or so-called trance.
